Item ANALISIS DAYA SERAP TONGKOL JAGUNG TERHADAP KALIUM, NATRIUM, SULFIDA DAN SULFAT PADA AIR LINDI TPA MUARA FAJAR PEKANBARU(2014-03-27) Amir, S.; Chainulfiffah; ItnawitaCorncob is a kind of side product on agricultural industry that exists in large amount from corn processing. Corncob predominantly consists of hemicellulose (36%), lignin (6%), and cellulose (41%). The cellulose content in corncob can be used as an adsorbent. In order to utilize corncob as an adsorbent its adsorption the ability need to be tested to potassium, sodium, sulfide, and sulfate in leachhate at Muara Fajar waste disposal not only as corncob powder form but also in char form. An atomic Absorbtion Spectrophotometer (AAS) was used to determine the content of potassium and sodium, while spectrophotometer of UV-Vis was used for sulfide and sulfate contents. Result showed that adsorption ability of corncob powder for potassium and sodium was higher than its char form (1,14 mg/g; 17,58 mg/g; and 1,095 mg/g; 16,85 mg/g). While the adsorption ability of corncob powder for sulfide and sulfate was lower than its char form (0,190 mg/g; 5,531 mg/g; 0,268 mg/g and 9,025 mg/g). According to paired t test method (p = 0,05), it showed that corncob and its char have effectiveness to adsorp sodium, potassium, sulfide and sulfate in leachete from Muara Fajar waste disposalItem ANALISIS RHODAMIN B DALAM MAKANAN JAJANAN PASAR DI KOTA PEKANBARU(2013-07-08) Sitanggang, Jahyadi; Anita, S.; ChainulfiffahRhodamine B dye is a synthetic form of crystal powder which is greenish, purplish red in soluble form at high concentrations and bright red color at low concentrations. It is often used as a textile dye, for coloring a food product, especially street peddler food. Rhodamine B can cause irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, and if inhaled, it can irritate the respiratory tract, skin, eye, and can cause cancer in humans. Street food that are often chosen snacks are with bright red color as found at Panam Market such as sugar confectionery, red crackers, layer cakes and cup cakes, while at the Kodim market such as red crackers, cakes and cake layers, getuk, whereas at the Arengka Market, street foods are selected such as sugar confectionery, cakes, crackers, red getuk. Rainbowcake samples from a famous pastry shop in the city of Pekanbaru, were also analyzed as case study due to the issue circulating among people about the samples. Based on a qualitative examination of Rhodamine B, the red cracker samples of Kodim market allegedly gave positive results when observed visually and under UV light with Rf value close to the standard (0.4285). The samples of cup cakes from Panam market showed Rf value close to the standard (0.4571). To clarify the allegations, a quantitative analysis was conducted using HPLC, apparently the two samples were not suspected of containing Rhodamine B dye. However another kind of dye was found by comparing the retention times between samples with the standards. This dye that was used by the merchant is not known whether allowed or not according to No.PERMENKES.722/Menkes/Per/IX/1998.Item CHANGES IN PHENOLIC AND FLAVONOID CONTENT OF Coleus amboinicus TEA DURING STORAGE(2014-05-21) Jose, Christine; Nurhayati; ChainulfiffahColeus amboinicus plants were grown organically treated with three different foliar treatments (control, herb fermented plant extract and EM5). Green tea and black tea were produced from each treatment and stored for up to three months. All green teas have significant higher (P<0.05) phenolic and flavonoid contents compared to all black teas. Green tea produced from EM5 foliar treatment showed the highest phenolic and flavonoid content. Some changes of phenolic and flavonoid contents were observed in green teas and black teas during 3 months storage.Item Produksi Inulinase Ekstraseluler Dari Aspergillus Niger Gmn 11.1 Yang Diisolasi Dari Umbi Dahlia (Dahlia Variabilis)(2015-02-28) Chainulfiffah; Saryono; John, SyahrulInulin, a polyfmctan, is found as the resci-ve carbohydrate in the roots and tubers of various plants (i.e. Jerusalem artichoke, chicory and dahlia tubers). Enzymatic hydrolysis of inulin produce syrup up to 95% fructose, fligh fructose svTup can be used as low caloric sweetener because fructose is 1.5 to 2 times sweeter than sucrose. P-fructofuranosidase (inulinase) from the mold Aspergillus niger Gmn 11.1 is of interest because of its industrial potential in fmctose syrup production . Inulinase production from Aspergillus niger Gmn 11.1, isolated from dahlia tubers by using six different media composition was produced by batch-culture. Inulinase activity is determined by measuring reduction sugar by using oitotoluidin method. The best result is found by using composition of medium III (inulin 1 % + (NH4)2 HPO4 0.5 % + MgS04 7H2O 0.05 %). The highest inulinase activity was 7.8107 x 10"^ mmol/ml/'minute, and incubation time sixt>' hours by using statistic analysis base on DMRT. Ba.se on composition of the best medium (medium III) by variating of the carbon source (inulin, starch, cellulose, fructose and glycerol), pH fermentation (4.5, 5.0, 5.5 and 6.0), and temperature (30°C, 40"C, and 50° C) and incubation time sixt>' hours is found that the highest inulinase activity 3.1228 mmol'ml/minute was obtained under optimum condition pH 4.5 and temperature 50° C with inulia as the best inducer.
