Abstract:
Nephrolepis hirsutula is one of epiphytic ferns belonging to Nephrolepidaceae
family. The purpose of this study was to characterize the stomatal morphology of
Nephrolepis hirsutula collected fom Panca Surya Garden Ltd. Kampar Riau. The
sampling was carried out using the exploration method. The stomata preparation were
made using replication method. The results showed that Nephrolepis hirsutula had a
hypostomatic type with kidney-shaped, 42,93 ± 3,02 μm long and 25,91 ± 3,05 μm
wide. The stomata were uniformly distributed on the abaxial surface. The combined
stomata types were the polocytic and pseudopolocytic with 2 and 3 irregular neighbor
cells.
