Abstract:
The basic concepts of sustainable drainage development are increasing the use of
water, minimizing losses, improving and conserving the environment. Principally,
through ecodrain, flood/puddle or drought can be minimized because more rain water
infiltration into the ground which is useful as groundwater conservation. This
research is aim to (1) analyze the existing condition of drainage channels in Pekanbaru
City (2) analyze the ecological, economic and social impacts of drainage disturbance in
Pekanbaru City (3) analyze sustainable drainage management in Pekanbaru City. This
research is carried out in Pekanbaru city. This research is a mixture of quantitative and
qualitative research. The research method used was a survey and experiment method.
The way to collect data is through field surveys, documentation and interviews. The
results showed that the existing drainage channels are not able to accomodate the
rainwater runoff (Qp) greater than the Qexisting, if there is high rainfall intensity with
duration < 1 hour. Disruption of drainage functions as ecological, economic and social
drainage functions has a high effect of 65-100% if there is a flood in the sampling
location because it is the main road of Pekanbaru City. So that the evaluation of
sustainable drainage management can be done several ecodrain methods, namely
retention ponds, bioretency systems, biopores and pavement infiltration tp help absorb
water into the soil.
