Abstract:
Rubber seed is a raw material that can be applied for peat water treatment. The kernel was used as a biocoagulant and rubber seed coat as an adsorbent. The aim of this study were to determine the effect of adsorbents in peat water treatment. Rubber seed coat adsorbent was activated at 105°C for 24 hours to produce pores and enlarge the surface area. It was found that 4.26% removal of color was obtained by rubber seed coat as adsorbent, whereas organic matter and TDS had not been able to removing by the rubber seed coat adsorbent. In this case, the adsorption method has not been effective yet to improve the quality of peat water after coagulation, and this result of analysis was not fulfilled the water quality based on PERMENKES RI No. 416/ MENKES/PER/IX/1990
