Peranan Lembaga Adat Melayu (Lam) Kota Pekanbaru Terhadap Fungsi Perairan Sungai Siak Kota Pekanbaru

Abstract

Siak River is the deepest river in Indonesia. Located in Riau Province, the Siak River, which is located in Tapung, Kampar Regency, RokanHulu Regency, Bengkalis Regency and SiakRegency has a depth of 30M. The result of silting is now 18M. Siak River also passes Pekanbaru City Riau Province with a relatively flat river contour with an altitude of 0.25 Dpl above sea level. The siltation siak river is caused by a decrease quality the river due to the occurrence industrial and household waste disposal both small and large. Nearly 60% comes from household waste in the city Pekanbaru. Utilization of the river for daily needs for the Malay tribal local community is considered very wise because for the Malay river tribe is a marwah and self-identity. The Malay community has a traditional institution that houses the community in upholding the institutions for protecting indigenous people, especially regarding the designation of the teachings Malay people in the Pekanbaru. The study aimed to analyze the role Pekanbaru City LAM on the function of the Siak river waters Pekanbaru. This research is a survey research and literature study with interview techniques and collection previous study material about the Pekanbaru and Siak River Malay tribes. From the results research, LAM Pekanbaru city Program has been found in Pekanbaru LAM Program on the function of the Siak River waters. The absence of cultural inventory efforts as local wisdom of Malay people in the preservation of Siak River. In this study also found a nonsynergic relationship between policy makers in AMDAL licensing and LAM Pekanbaru so that local wisdom of the community in the coastal river siak is threatened in extinction. The relationship of neglected local wisdom to the function of the river Siak was also found in this study to accelerate damage to the river Siak in the city of Pekanbaru
