dc.description.abstract Pangium edule is a plant that found in Taluk Kuantan Riau Province. This plant has potential as a source of flavonoids. Seed flesh (endorsperm) was extracted using methanol and separated by column chromatography, and produced several fractions. One of fraction (F6) was characterized using UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy. Based on the spectra, this fraction showed a characteristic of flavonoid. Toxicity tests were, conducted on the extracts and fractions with BSLT method. Toxicity test results showed that the methanol extracts has the LC50 higher than 1000 ppm and the fraction has the LC50 718,3 ppm. It can be concluded that the methanol extracted was not toxic and a F6 was toxic. en_US
