dc.description.abstract |
Curcumin (2E,6E)-2,6-bis(2,3-dimethoxybenzylidene)-cyclohexanone (DK) has been synthesized by Claisen–Schmidt condensation of cyclohexanone and 2,3-dimethoxybenzaldehyde under microwave irradiation using NaOH. The compound structure was than identified based on the interpretation of spectroscopic data included UV, IR, 1H NMR, and MS. The toxicity of these curcumin carried out by Brine Shrimp Lethality Test method againts larvae of Artemia salina Leach. Our finding showed that LC50 of curcumin was 18,578 ppm.The result showed that DK has less activity since its LC50 was higher than 200 ppm |
