UJI PEMACUAN PERTUMBUHAN KECAMBAH KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) TINGKAT PRENURSERY MENGGUNAKAN ISOLAT CAMPURAN BAKTERI PELARUT FOSFAT ASAL TANAH GAMBUT RIAU

Abstract

Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) is a group of benefical bacteria capable in solubilizing organic phosphate into anorganic phosphate. Therefore, the application of PSB as biofertilizer agents can improve plant growth. The objective of this research was to analyze the effectiveness of PSB mixing inoculation in increasing the growth of prenursery palm oil seeds in peat soil. This research was designed as Completely Randomized with five replications. Isolates used in this researched were PSB BB_UB6, BB_K9, BB_K2, BB_HS13, BB_UB19, BB_UB5 and BB_HP28. The treatment of PSB was conducted by soaking the oil palm seeds in mixed PSB isolates for 2 hours. Then, the seeds were grown in prenursery medium that contain of peat and ultisol soil (1:3) for 12 weeks. The observed parameters included crown growth and root growth. The results showed that the use of PSB were not significantly effect on all parameters, but some isolates were effective in spurring the growth of root dry weight. Isolates that effective in spurring the growth of root dry weight are PSB on the starter 1, starter 2, starter 4 and starter 5 with the precentage of 175%, 100%, 131,25%, and 106,25%.
