Abstract:
Palm oil seeding must have a better managed so that can be yield a healthy
and qualified seed. Usage of organic substance in agriculture can improve the
physical and chemical nature also soil biology. Sludge from agriculture industry
own a potency to be developed become organic fertilizer. Giving sludge to seed
plant medium can increasing soil fertility and also able to supported seed growth
and to increase a lot of microorganisme population type and so that can make the
decomposition process of organic substance faster can be conducted by giving
EM-4 that is representing fertilizer that consist of many microorganisme. The
objective of this research is to know the interaction of sludge and EM-4 giveness
and also it's single factor and the correct dose for oil palm seed growth at main
nursery. This research have been conducted from Februari up to May 2007 at
faculty of agriculture Technical Service Unit (UPT) of UPT of Riau University,
Panam, Pekanbaru. As the parameter is to perceived high accretion of oil palm
seed (cm), leaf sum up accretion of oil palm seed (sheet), cusp diameter accretion
of oil palm seed (cm), root volume of oil palm seed (ml) and oil pam seed dry
weight (g). The result of this research is indicate that sludge single factor have an
real effect to all parameter except at high accretion and leaf sum up accretion,
EM-4 single factor is non significant to oil paml seed growth, while the
interaction of sludge and EM-4 giveness is non signficant to oil palm seed growth.
