Abstract:
Chemical fertilizer is still used by farmers to increase soil fertility, but its application is harmful to environment. Therefore, many of them use eco-friendly fertilizer, which is known as biofertilizer. Biofertilizer is composed of benefial microorganisms that play a role in providing nutrients for plant. So that, it is necessary to explore new biofertilizer agents. The aimed of this study was to screen the indigenous bacteria isolated from peat soil in Riau as biofertilizer agent. The Phosphate Solubilization Bacteria (PSB) and cellulolytic bacteria were selected based on value of ratio clear zone and colony
diameter (Z/K). The study result show 63 isolates were successfully selected including 59 PSB, with the highest ratio Z/K was shown by isolate J 310-2b (5.5) and 4 cellulolytic
bacteria with the highest ratio Z/K was shown by isolate 3910 (14)
