Abstract:
The aim of this research was to determine the influence of Benson relaxation to reduce
anxiety in patient with cervical cancer. This research used a design “Quasy experiments”
approach pretest-posttest design with control group was divided into experimental group
and control group. The sampling technique used accidental sampling with 30 patients with
cervical cancer which selected based on inclusion criteria. A measuring tool used in both
group was Hamilton Anxiety Ratting Scale (HARS). The analysis used univariate and
bivariate analysis with the dependent sample t test and independent sample t test. The
results showed that there was a decreased anxiety level (p value= 0,000) of experimental
group after given Benson relaxation. It means the benson relaxation is effective to reduce
anxiety in patient with cervical cancer. The results of this research is expected to be one of
the nursing interventions to reduce anxiety in patient with cervical cancer.
