Abstract:
The problem in this study is the low learning result IPS fourth grade students of SDN 21
Pekanbaru. This study was held on January 23 to March 21, 2013. This type of research is
Classroom Action Research (PTK), which was as much as 3 cycles, one cycle of 3 meetings and 1
meeting for daily test. Data collection instrument is the observation sheet teacher, student
observation sheets, and daily tests at the end of the test cycle. Subjects in this study were fourth
grade students totaling 43 students who serve as a source of data. The results in this thesis are all
teachers in cycle 1 the first meeting with the percentage of 57.14%, and 64.28% in the second
meeting, and at the third meeting of 71.42%. The first meeting of the second cycle increased with
the percentage of 75%, then at the second meeting increased to 78.57%, and rose again on the
third meeting of 82.14%. The first meeting of the third cycle increases with the percentage of
85.71%, a second meeting later increased by 89.28%, and the third meeting increased to 92.85%.
Activities of students in the first cycle the first meeting with the percentage of 53.57%, an increase
in the second meeting is 60.71%, and rose again on the third meeting at 71.42%. The first meeting
of the second cycle increased to 75%, then at the second meeting increased 78.57%, and the third
meeting increased to 82.14%. The first meeting of the third cycle increases with the percentage of
85.71%, then at the second meeting increased to 89.25%, and rose again on the third meeting by
92.85%. Average learning outcomes has increased in the first cycle of 75.62, an increase in the
second cycle of 80.27, and rose again on the third cycle of 86.60. From the preliminary data up to
the first Daily Test has risen 14.50%, of the initial data to the Daily Test II is 21.54% and from the
beginning of the data to the Daily Test III increased to 31.13%. So it can be concluded that the
application of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model to improve learning result IPS fourth grade
students of SDN 21 Pekanbaru.
