Efektifitas Minyak Zaitun Terhadap Pressure ulcers pada Pasien dengan Tirah Baring Lama

Abstract

The aim ofthis research is toidentify the effectiveness of Olea europea for preventing pressure ulcer in bedridden patient.The design used was Quasy Experimental with Pre and Post Test Only Non Equivalent Control Group approach that divided into experiment and control group. This study was performed to bedridden patient who cared in the room Cendrawasih II and Merak II. The sample size is 30 people that divided into 15 people in the experiment group and 15 people in the control group with taking sample technique by Purposive Sampling with consider the inclusion criteria. The measurement tool used was the Pressure Ulcer Data Collecting Form observation sheet with modification. All sample in the experiment group was topically lubricated by 20 ml Olea europea Oil once a day for 7 days. Data analysis used were univariate and bivariate with Mann-Whitney and Wilxocon test. The study result showed that there were the difference of pressure ulcer mean between experiment and control group with p-value = 0.000 (p < 0.05) that means Olea europea Oil is effective to prevent pressure ulcer in bedridden patient. The researcher suggest that Olea europea Oil can be applied to prevent pressure ulcer in bedridden patient in hospital and community.
