Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The description of the
learning problems of students who are frequently absent before group counseling
service given 2)The description of the learning problems of students who are frequently
absent after group counseling service given 3) The difference between the learning
problems of the students before and after counseling group service given 4) The effect
of group counseling towards the decrease of the learning problems of the students
frequently absent. This study consisted of a single variable with two variants which are
the learning problems of students who are frquently absent before the counseling group
sevice given and the learning problems of students who are frequently absent after
group counseling service given. This study took 15 students who are frequently absent
as the population of this study. To take the sample, this study used saturated sampling,
this sampling technique used when all members of the population are as the samples.
The research methodology used is Quasi-experimental research One group pattern: One
group pre-test and post-test design. To filter the data on learning problems of the
students who are frequently absent the researcher used AUM PTSDL. The result of this
research indicate that the research hypothesis was accepted : there is a difference
between before and after group counseling service given towards the decrease of the
learning problems of students who are frequently absent. The results of this study are:
1) Before given group counseling services to students who have learning promblems in
the class X SMA 2 Siak Hulu, the all students are have enouugh problem category. 2)
After given group counseling services to students who have learning problems in the
class X SMA Negeri 2 Siak Hulu almost a half of all students are have enough problem
category. 3) There is significant difference between the learning problems of students
before and after the group counseling services 4) There is a significant effect of group
counseling services towards the decrease of the learning problems of the students
frequently absent in the class X of SMA Negeri 2 Siak Hulu 64%
