Abstract:
Guidance group is a strategy to help the students develop their knowledge,
perception, intellegence and their attitude by using discussion activity. The
purpose of this guidance is to improve the students self concept. Isolated student
is student who has bad social relationship in interating with his/ her friends in
classroom. This study aimed to determine isolated students self concept
illustration before and after given guidance group, to know the differences, and to
know the effect of guidance group. The subject of this study consisted of 26
students at class X of SMAN 1 Tambang. The writer used experiment quasi one
group which consisted of pre-test and post-test. In conducting the data, the writer
used “Sampling Total” which was the sampling technique the members of the
population are become members of sample. The data collection technique
consisted of sociometry and self concept sheets. Before implementing guidance
group services the isolated students self concept are classified unfavorable
category. Then, the writer implemented the strategy the guidance group could
increase the isolated students self concept.
