Abstract

Smoking is a behavior that is considered as a usual, even though everyone will understand the impact of smoking, but smoking behaviors have not decreased even increasing from year to year. It can be felt in everyday life in the home, office, public transportation, on-campus, school, or on the streets where all the circles interact. Almost every moment can be witnessed and encountered people who were smoking, smoking seems to be a necessity. This study aims to describe the perception and impact of smoking behavior that focuses on behavior, customs, and the impact of smoking that occurred among the students. The indicators in this study to determine the students' perception or view of the smoking habit among students, student attitudes both active smokers and passive smokers on smoking behavior among college students, smoking behavior among college students, as well as the impact caused from a smoking habit in among the students. The results showed that most of the students know the impact of smoking behavior, but because the impact is not instantaneous and is considered as a matter of course so that the behavior is not too problematic. Such behavior is considered as a habit that becomes a necessity.
