dc.description.abstract |
Sands with homogenous size are really needed for building construction. Sands with
homogenous size are got from manual screening process which needs human physical
power that cause long duration screening process, so that sand screening machine is
needed to minimize human physical power use and to increase production capacity. In
this research, designing, manufacturing and testing for Sand screening machine with
unbalance mass excitation are conducted. Unbalance mass excitation caused the
screening vibrates, so that the sand are elaborated base on the same grain size of the
sand with screen mesh size. For those purposes, sand screening machine design which
consists of several machine elements: screen box with several levels of mesh size, shaft,
rotor with unbalance mass, motor, propeller shaft and spring are conducted. From
design process, the sand screening machine with unbalance mass excitation and capacity
of 578 kg/hour then manufactured. The sand screening machine testing determined that
the increasing of unbalance mass (200 gram, 240 gram, 300 gram, 332 gram and 384
gram) caused vibration amplitude and machine capacity are raised. |
