Abstract

PENGARUH BIMBINGAN KELOMPOK TERHADAP PENINGKATAN HARGA DIRI SISWA YANG ORANG TUANYA BURUH KELAS IX SMPN 1 SIAK HULU TAHUN PELAJARAN 2012/2013 Amalina Fauziah1) Raja Arlizon2)Sardi Yusuf Mahasiswa Pendidikan Bimbingan dan Konseling, Email : amalina_dcripz@yahoo.co.id Program Studi Pendidikan Bimbingan Konseling FKIP Universitas Riau ABSTRACT The title of this research is the "effect of group counseling on self-esteem of students whose parents are laborers form class IX SMPN 1 Siak Hulu". The purpose of this research are 1) for knowing the illustration of student‟s self-esteem before giving the group counselling 2) for knowing the illustration of student‟s self-esteem after given group counselling. 3) to determine differences in self-esteem before and after counseling group 4) To reveal the effect of an increase in self-esteem before and after group counseling. Type of research is komprasional the type of research to know the differences of each variable (x1 and x2) in a way to see the difference, whether significant or not significant differences. Use data collection tool in the form of questionnaires. Population of this research are IXF, IXG, IX I, that the parents are laborers which total 43 students, in which the determination of the sample consider students who the lowest scored of self-esteem to be sampled (purposive sampling). 1) A description of self before the group gave guidance that is largely categorized Medium by 70%, in the Low category by 30%. 2) description of self-esteem after the guidance given group largely Medium category, ie 95%, in the low category is 5%. Based on the calculation of the correlation coefficient between x1 and x2 is equal to 0.66 and the coefficient of determination r2 = 43%, it can be in the know that to (T count) is greater than t table, (10> 2.021) so that Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. Means that there are significant differences between the variables I and II variables
