dc.description.abstract Palm oil has a big role in increasing economic of people, especially for farmers; therefore it is recognized as an important and strategic commodity around Riau Province. For the next future, large area of palm oil plantation will continue increase since people pay attention towards palm oil industry. It can be proven from the progressively expand individually of palm oil plantation. Aim of this research is to understand the multiplier effect experienced from palm oil plantation and its impact toward the level of prosperity in the rural society. Research result concludes that palm oil plantation creates multiplier effect at the sum of 2.48 and improve growth index of prosperity of the farmers in the year 2003: 1.74 per cent. en_US
