Abstract:
The problem in this study is the low of students’ achievement on social studies at the fourth grade of SDN 004 Sungai Jalau of Kampar Utara district with an average value of 57.72%, of the 22 students who have not reached the KKM 14 people (63.63%) while achieving KKM only 8 people (36.36%). This research was done to implement the Cooperative Learning type Think Pair Share (TPS) to improve students’ achivement on social studies at the fourth grade of SDN 004 Sungai Jalau of Kampar Utara? The purpose of this study to improve students’ social science achievement through the implementation of type cooperative learning type Think Pair Share (TPS) at the fourth grade of SDN 004 Sungai Jalau of Kampar Utara District. After being applied the type of cooperative learning Think Pair Share (TPS), the results showed that the activity of teachers has increased by 16.66% from 72.22% in the first cycle to 88.88% in the second cycle. Students’ activities were also increased by 18,06% from 68,05% at the first cycle to 86.11% in the second cycle. Students’ achievement of the basic score increased by an average of 57.72 increased by 14.96% to 66.36 in cycle I and the next in cycle II with students’ average score increased 30.31% of the cycle I to 75.22. Classically, the completeness increased from baseline 36.36% increased by 22.73% to 59.09% in the first cycle, then increase again by 31.81% to 90.90% in the second cycle. In conclusion, the implementation of Cooperative Learning type Think Pair Share (TPS) was able to Improve Student’s achievement on Social Studies at the Four Grade of SDN 004 Sungai Jalau Kecamatan Kampar Utara.
