Abstract:
Management of learning is believed to be one of the main factors that determine the success of students in learning. But in reality , the management of learning by teachers is far from the guidelines that have been set. One example is the low percentage of students in the class V SDN 013 Segati, Langgam Sub District, District of Pelalawan. Therefore, to improve student learning outcomes, we need some efforts to improve the learning process so that the value of student learning outcomes will be optimized. Improvement of the learning process is conducted by applying the type of cooperative learning Think Pair Square through a study of students in class V SDN 013 Segati, Langgam Sub District, District of Pelalawan, in the even semester of the academic year 2011/2012. This research involving 24 students in the class V SDN 013 Segati, which consists of a variety of academic ability and gender. The research was designed in two cycles, each cycle consists of 3 sessions and 1 time daily tests. The results of the first cycle found that the percentage of students who achieve mastery minimum criteria was 75% and the second cycle was 54.17%, which increased the percentage of the previous measures only 66.7%.
