ABSTRACT
This study aims to improve learning outcomes through the application of mathematical models of type STAD cooperative learning in class of IV SD Negeri 016 Bagan Jawa Kecamatan Bangko Rokan Hilir semester academic year 2011/2012 on the subject matter and operations fractions. This research was conducted in the Fourth Grade class of IV SD Negeri 016 Bagan Jawa Kecamatan Bangko Rokan Hilir the second semester of the school year 2011/2012. Subjects were fourth grade elementary school students class of IV SD Negeri 016 Bagan Jawa, totaling 20 people, consisting of eight male students and 12 female students. Forms of research is a class act. In the research model used is the model type STAD cooperative learning in teaching fractions. This study was conducted in two cycles consisting of the first cycle and second cycle each of the three meetings and one-time daily tests. The results showed that the use of cooperative learning model STAD can improve student learning outcomes, it is shown in the number of students who achieve mastery criteria Minumum 65 on the base score 7 students (35%), increased in the first cycle to 10 students (50%) and increased again in the second cycle to 18 students (90%). implementation type STAD cooperative learning can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes Elementary School fourth grade class of IV SD Negeri 016 Bagan Jawa on
