Abstract

Poverty is a condition of life of deprivation experienced by a person that can not meet the minimal needs of life. According Sajogyo (1977:13) benchmarks established and used in Indonesia to determine the number of the poor are income limits. Poverty is an issue that needs serious attention. Where these problems are very closely Poverty correlation with human life itself (Evers and Sumardi: 1982: 2). The purpose of the study was to determine the level of poverty in the village Maharatu on RW 09 To determine what factors are causing poverty in urban Maharatu on RW 09 To determine the poverty reduction efforts in urban Maharatu on RW 09 through government programs. As for the urban population is poor Maharatu RW 09 Sub Marpoyan Peace totaling 61 deaths and 50% of the sample population that is 30 respondents who were in the Village Maharatu RW 09. Poverty communities in Sub Maharatu RW 09 Sub Marpoyan Peace that poverty rate in Sub Maharatu RW 09 is high because of the level of employment, age, income, and education is still low. Thus automatically cause or factor Poverty Alleviation missed due on account of the causes of low education, low income, age no longer productivity, and employment of low-income farmers is not included with the knowledge gained fromeducation. While the control program of the government give poor people in the form of Raskin and BLT, poor public perception of science program Raskin and BLT most marayarakat know, poor people's attitude towards the program and BLT Raskin they agree with the program provided by the government, as well as participation in the program Raskin and BLT them enough to participate.
