Abstract:
Livestock are pets whose products are intended as food income, industrial raw
materials, services, and their by-products related to agriculture. Cattle are one of the
livestock that have not succeeded in meeting domestic demand, due to the lack of
knowledge of breeders in raising cattle such as feed quality, housing, health, diseases
and symptoms in cattle. This situation causes farmers to have a high dependence on
cattle experts or veterinarians who are experts in dealing with diseases in cattle. This
study uses the Certainty Factor (CF) method. The research objective is to build a webbased
expert system with system design including use case diagrams, activity diagrams,
class diagrams, and sequence diagrams using the CodeIgniter (CI) framework. The
data used in this expert system consists of 12 diseases, 12 symptoms and 12 solutions
with weighted values from experts or cattle experts. The expert system for diagnosing
cattle disease can minimize the role of experts or doctors so that breeders can detect
diseases suffered by cattle earlier. The information generated by the system has gone
through manual calculations so that a trust value is obtained to find out disease in
cattle.
