Abstract:
Mangroves are very productive forests, have high diversity and play an important role
in the ecosystem. This study aimed to determine the distribution of mangrove tree strata
in Api-Api Village, Bengkalis Regency. This study used survey method. Experimental
plots were determined by purposive sampling with a plot size of 10 m x 10 m. Results
of the study found eight families. The study also analyzed secondary data such as type
of substrate, salinity, pH, temperature and light intensity. Those environmental factors
influence the distribution of mangrove tree strata in Api-Api Village, Bengkalis
Regency. R. apiculata species were distributed throughout the zone, E. agallocha was
grown in the middle and back zones, while the species N. fructicans was only found in
the back zone.
