Abstract:
Penicillium sp. LBKURCC34 is one of the fungi that was isolated from the peat soil
conservation area of The Biosphere Reserve Primary Forest-Giam Siak Kecil Bukit
Batu (GSKBB). This fungi can produce secondary metabolites that have antimicrobial
activity against several pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Eschericia coli,
Staphylococcus epidermidis, Bacillus subtilis, and Candida albicans. The purpose of
this research was to test by bioautography the ethyl acetate extract of co-culture liquid
fermentation of Penicillium sp. LBKURCC34 and S. aureus after fractionated by VLC.
The active fractions obtained from 9 fractions (F1-F9) were F3, F4, F5, and F6 that
showed with Rf 0,41, 0,45, 0,43, and 0,25 against S. aureus.
