dc.description.abstract Cabbage plants are among the highest needs in Indonesia. In various attempts by farmers to increase chili production, the disease in chili plants often causes farmers to fail to harvest. The use of pesticides in agriculture is quite important in preventing and reducing disease in chili peppers. Pesticides for chili peppers are widely distributed on the market and have the advantages of each product offered to farmers, so farmers must be more careful and understanding in choosing pesticides to be used in preventing chili pepper disease. The Bukittinggi City Agriculture and Food Service in improving food security makes this one of the efforts in running the program by determining the best pesticide selection in preventing chili plant disease so that it can improve the yield and quality of the chili plant. The best pesticide selection is required. Criteria as conditions in the selection of the best pesticides. The goal achieved in this study was the introduction of a decision support system using the Weighted Aggregate Sum Product Assessment (WASPAS) method to support decision-making to help farmers in providing alternatives to assess the best pesticides preventing disease in chili plants. Methods used in research include data processing, data analysis, system design, implementation and system testing. Data processing is obtained from interviews and literature studies of 30 data. Then analysis of the data is done, determining the attributes and criteria, determining the decision matrix, normalizing the matrix, generating the pesticide alternative value, normalizing, calculating the alternative value (Qi), lastly determining the ranking. The results obtained are that the system is able to produce alternative pesticide optimization values already ranked 3 highest to lowest with optimization values of Tridex 80 WP, Holyzeb 80 WP, Lamzeb 80 WP. en_US
