Abstract:
The rotation speed of the tube in the ball milling method affects the crystalline size and
magnetic properties of the natural sand sample used. Identification of elemental content in
natural sand was carried out using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) for ball milling product with
tube rotational speed functions of 100 rpm, 150 rpm and 200 rpm.The ball milling product is
then separated using Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB).The result of this study XRF
identification results showed that the Fe composition increased from 16,007% to 16,439%.
while the composition of K, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, and Ni increased, the composition of Si, Al, P and
Cu decreased. The results of XRD identification produced hematite (Fe2o3) phase magnetic
nanoparticles with a rhombohedral crystal system. The average size of the crystals increased at
a speed of 150 rpm was 28,8292 nm.
