Abstract:
Mangrove forest is one of the unique coastal ecosystems. The ecological
function of the mangrove forest is to prevent sea water intrusion, protect the coastline,
and provide a feeding ground. In general, the severity of disturbance in mangrove
forest areas is indirectly influenced by biotic and abiotic factors. The purpose of the
study was to identify habitat characteristics in the Ecotourism Area of Bandar Bakau,
Pangkalan Sesai Village, Dumai District. Observation of water quality was conducted
by line transect method. The measuring plot was made perpendicular to the shoreline.
Sampling used three plots with a distance between plots of 60 m. The highest tide
value was 2.90 m and the lowest was is 0.1 m, negligible tidal pattern, with clay
texture. Salinity ranged from 15-23 ppt.
