Abstract:
Kabau (Archidendron microcarpum) is an uncultivated plant that belongs to the
Fabacea family. Kabau plants have potential as medicinal plants because they contain
lectins as antibacterial, antidiabetic, antifungal, and antidiuretic agents. Molecular
information about kabau plants in the Genbank database is not yet available, therefore
this research is carried out to isolate total DNA from kabau plants.. Research methods
included isolation of total kabau plant DNA samples K3 and K4 from fresh leaves
using the Genomic DNA Mini Kit Plant (Geneaid) DNA isolation kit and
electrophoresis using 1% agarose gel to check the quality and quantity of total DNA.
The results showed that the kabau plant DNA bands K3 and K4 samples were intact,
bright, single, and not smeared with a size of more than 10,000 bp.
