Abstract:
Padang Panjang City has a fairly rapid economic growth, but still has a high poverty
rate. One of the efforts from the government to reducing poverty and improving people's
lives is through the zakat management program by Baznas Padang Panjang.
Determination of recipients of zakat is still manually and subjectively, so that giving zakat
to those who are not entitled to receive zakat. This research aims to created a data
mining system using the classification method with the C4.5 algorithm in determining
zakat recipient and measured the level of accuracy of the resulting decisions. The system
designed using UML and built based on a website. This study used 1355 datasets which
are divided into training and testing data with a distribution ratio of 80%:20%. The
results of calculations used 1084 training data to get 954 rules. The application of data
mining using the C4.5 algorithm on zakat fund data at the Baznas Padang Panjang
resulted in an 83.7638%, a precision value of 85.2273% and a recall value of 7.8261%.
