Abstract:
Sour eggplant or dayak eggplant (Solanum ferox L.) is a flowering plant, member of
Solanum genus and Solanaceae family. This plant is found in almost all areas of
Central Kalimantan and Riau. Sour eggplant is one of important ingredients in malay
cuisines, especially in Siak and Kampar, such as “asam pedas ikan tapah”. This study
aimed to isolate sour eggplant DNA using Genomic Mini Kit Plant. Research methods
consisted of isolation of genomic DNA and electrophoresis. The result showed thick
and light DNA bands, with a length of more than 10.000 bp.
