Abstract:
Fabaceae is a flowering plant family that well known as legume. Members of
this family have been widely used due to its benefit. Two Fabaceae species that grown
in University of Riau area are Erythrina variegata, as cover or ornamental crops, and
Senna siamea, as shade trees. This study aimed to characterize the morphological
differences between these species. The speciments were collected from the field using
exploration method. The morphological characters were then documented and
characterized in detail. The results showed that E. variegata and S. siamea have
different morphological characters in the shape of leaf and flower characteristics.
