dc.description.abstract One of the plants that is known for its medicinal benefits is Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis). Binahong is widely used to treat diabetes, liver, and wound. Every part of binahong such as leaves, shoots, stems, and tubers has the potential to be used in medicine. This study aimed to examine the content of saponin and steroid metabolites in the leaves, shoots, stems, and tubers of binahong. Each binahong organ positively contains saponins. Binahong leaves, shoots, and stems were positive for steroids but the tuber organs showed negative reaction. Therefore, every organ of binahong can possibly be used in medicine en_US
