Abstract:
The white fruit jabon (Anthocepalus Cadamba) can be used as an adsorbent because the
chemical composition like cellulose and lignin that can absorb a big amount of an
adsorbate. This research was aimed to test the adsorption ability of white jabon and to find
out the adsorption optimum condition with varying the total number of adsorbent. Active
charcoal created by the carbonization process at 300ᵒC for 30 minutes long, then the
activation used NaOH and Charcoal with 1:3 (b/b) ratio. The optimization effect of
adsorbent mass performed with adsorbent variant mass (0,25, 0,5, 0,75, and 1 g). This
research showed that the optimum adsorbent mass happened at 0.75 g mass with 99.456%
adsorption efficiency. Based on the result of statictic test showed Sig 0.163 (> 0.05), so can
be included that there is no correlation between adsorbent mass variable and the adsorption
efficiency
