UJI KEMAMPUAN TUMBUH Bacillus sp. MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK IMOBILISASI DENGAN BEBERAPA VARIASI CARRIER UNTUK MENDEGRADASI MINYAK BUMI

Abstract

Petroleum production activities can cause environmental pollution which has a major impact on humans and the ecosystem. One of the efforts to polluted environmental conditions is by biodegradation. The research aimed to determine the growth ability of Bacillus sp. with immobilization techniques using oil palm bunches (TKKS), sawdust (SG) and rice husks (SP) carriers to degrade petroleum. The growth ability of bacterial isolates was tested on Minimal Salt Medium (MSM) + 1% crude oil and pH was measured for a period of 0, 5, 10 and 15 days. The results showed that the highest total population of Bacillus Sp 48 bacteria on the 10th day of TKKS treatment was 2,67x109 cfu/ml and SG 2,58x109 cfu/ml and growth test of Bacillus Sp 48 gave the highest population by giving TKKS carrier on the 10th day. Bacillus Sp 48 had the potential to be developed as a bioremediation agent.
