Abstract:
Dermatitis is a disease that attacks the skin in humans. Lack of public knowledge about
dermatitis makes it difficult for early diagnosis of the disease, resulting in delays in
handling and prevention. The purpose of this study is to build an expert system for
diagnosing dermatitis using a certainty factor method that combines expert knowledge
with user-derived information. This expert system research was carried out in four stages,
including data collection, CF calculation, system requirements analysis, and testing. This
research uses the Unified Modeling Language (UML) in designing a system consisting
of usecase diagrams (manage disase data, symptom data, knowledge base data, view user
data, view diagnosis history, view diagnostic result, diagnose disase, log in, register,
logout, access the home menu, about, guide), nine activity diagrams, class diagrams, and
nine sequence diagrams. The contribution of this research is to produce a web-based
dermatitis diagnosis expert system that provides an output percentage of the possibility
of a person getting dermatitis based on its type and the handling solution by applying the
certainty factor method. It is hoped that this expert system can help users to make early
detection and find out a temporary diagnosis of the type of dermatitis they suffer.
