Abstract:
Bamboo is a plant that belongs to the tribe of Poaceae (grass-herbaceous). bamboo in
Indonesia has a high biodiversity. Vegetation analysis is a method to study the
composition of the type and shape or structure of vegetation. This research has been
conducted in the district Sungai Batang District Indragiri Hilir from October 2019 to
March 2020. Purpose of this research was to know the diversity and analyze the bamboo
vegetation in Sungai Batang District, Indragiri Hilir District, Riau Province. This study
used survey method. Data were collected directly from the field followed by data
analysis. Results found six species of bamboo namely Bambusa vulgaris Schard. Ex
Wendl. var. Striata, Dendrocalamus asper, Bambusa heterostachya, Bambusa
glaucophylla, Bambusa vulgaris Schard. Ex Wendl. var. Vulgaris, Bambusa blumeana,
Gigantochloa apus, dan Bambusa multiplex. In addition, the important value Index
(INP) of the Bambusa vulgaris Schard. Ex Wendl. var. Striata showed the greatest
degree of dominance.
