This area posses a unique biological diversity, including mosses (Musci). One family of Musci that can adapt in this area is Calymperaceae. This group has unique morphological structure and vegetative reproduction which make them can survive in this area. However, in spite of their uniques, the data of this group is inadequate and diversity of moss from this biosphere reserve had been not reported yet. The aims of this study are to identify, characterize, and classify Calymperaceae diversity of Giam Siak Kecil-Bukit Batu Biosphere Reserve. All of the specimens in this study were collected from six sites, that are grouped based on their vegetation types, i.e. natural forest, industrial plant forest, rubber forest, rubber plantations, oil palm plantations and home gardens.
