The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of motivation on the performance of teachers at SMP Negeri 21 Pekanbaru. The research was conducted in March to November 2012. The subjects of this study were all teachers at SMP Negeri 21 Pekanbaru, amounting to 79 people. The data used in this study in the form of primary data and secondary data collection techniques and documentation of data through questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used using simple linear regression equation is processed using SPSS version 19. The results portray that there is influence between work motivation (X) on the performance of teachers (Y). It is proven that the results of simple linear regression analysis is Y = 25.723 + 0.193 X where if motivation increased by 1 unit then the performance of teachers will increase by 0.193. Furthermore, the value of coefficient of determination (R2) is equal to 0.492 or 49.2%. A portrait of the motivation to explain and contribute to the performance of teachers by 49.2% while the remaining 50.8% is influenced by other variables not included in this studyen-USWork MotivationPerformance Teaching TeachersArticle
