Analysis of ammonia, sulfides and chromium in the Sail River and Air Hitam River Pekanbaru was conducted to determinethe quality of river water based on PP No 82 of 2001 class II and Governor Decree 8 of 2001 grade II. Samples were collected by using purposive sampling in rain and hot weather at 4 stations. Ammonia and sulfide were analyzed by UV-Vis spectrophotometer while chromium by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. Concentration of ammonia, sulfide and chromium in Sail River sample in the rainy season was ranged from 3.99 to 5.48 mg/L, 0.44 to 0.95 mg/L and 2.47 to 4.43 ppm; respectively. While in the hot season was ranged from 3.69 to 5.60 mg/L, 0.34 to 0.79 mg/L, and 2.04 to 3.35 ppm; respectively. Concentration of ammonia, sulfide and chromium in Air Hitam River sample in the rainy season was ranged from 4.31 to 6.06 mg/L, 0.30 to 0.80 mg/L and 0.60 to 2.68 ppm; respectively. While in the hot season was ranged from 4.01 to 5.57 mg/L, 0.22 to 0.85 mg/L, and 0.58 to 2.66 ppm; respectively. Our results of sulfides and chromium analysis showed that it was over the threshold value for all stations studied. The concentration of ammonia in 3rd and 4th stations of Sail river and in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th stations of Air Hitam River was also over the thresholdenAir Hitam RiverAmmoniaChromiumSail RiverSulfide and Water Quality.student Paper Post Degree
