The objective of this research is to know if the aplication of active learning strategy Quiz Team type can improve student achivement. The research is experimental research with pretest-posttest design. Data were collected from April 23 t to May 8 th , 2013. The sample consisted of two classes, the class X.2 as the experimental class and the class X.3 as a controls class randomly selected after giving of normality and homogeneity test. Experimental class treated by applying active learning strategy Quiz Team type,while the control class was treated as lecture. Data analize by using the t-test. Based on the final results of data process by using t-test formula obtained t test>ttable is 3,29>1,67 it means that the application of active learning strategy Quiz Team type can improve student achievementon for hydrocarbon mather class X SMAN 1 Salo.
