ICU-acquired infection rates are higher than hospital-acquired infection rates in general ward patients. MRSA is a major pathogen that cause nosocomial infection in ICU. This research was descriptive method using crosssectional approach to know percentage and resistant patterns of MRSA in ICU of Arifin Achmad General Hospital of Riau. The total of 57 samples obtained from blood, sputum, and urine. All isolates of S.aureus were tested for the presence of a MRSA using cefoxitin disc diffusion test. Resistant test of MRSA isolates were performed according to disc diffusion method againts sixteen antibiotics. MRSA percentage from 44 isolates were 11,3%. All of MRSA isolates were resistant to betalactam antibiotics, including ampicillin, amoxicillin-clavulanic acid, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone and meropenem. No MRSA isolates were resistant to vancomycin, linezolid, chloramphenicol and trimethoprim-sulfametoxazole.otherNosocomial infectionICUMRSAresistant patternPERSENTASE DAN POLA RESISTENSI METHICILLIN RESISTANT STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS DARI ISOLAT PASIEN YANG DIRAWAT DI RUANG INTENSIVE CARE UNIT RSUD ARIFIN ACHMAD PROVINSI RIAUstudent Paper Post Degree
