Sometimes, pain is associated with headache, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal symptoms, and others. Dysmenorrhea known as primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea, Primary dysmenorrhea which is defined as painful menses in women with normal pelvic anatomy and secondary dysmenorrhea is defined as painful menses in women with pelvic organ pathology and the most common cause of the secondary dysmenorrhea is endometriosis. The purpose of this research to know the overview of dysmenorrhea with endometriosis among female students in Medical Faculty of Riau University. This Research was a descriptive study and already done on March until April 2013. The result of this research are from 215 female medical students there are 87,44% of them experiencing dysmenorrhea,50 female students who agree to do the ultrasonography examination and 36% of them were found endometriosis. The most dysmenorrhea onset is seldom occurs in 55,56%. Most common time of dysmenorrhea is during a period of menstruating occurs in 44,44 %. Most typical pain in dysmenorrhea is progressively alleviate occurs in 94,44%. Family history with dysmenorrhea found 50% cases.
