This research was conducted using the historical method. Data were collected through a Librarianship method, literature method and data analysis method. The results showed that Sheikh Ismail has a very important role in developing Tharekat Naqsyabandiyah in Surau Gading‟s Village in Rambah Samo District Rokan Hulu regency in 1897-1948. Sheikh Ismail role is to open Surau Gading‟s Village, promote of Islamic education and regulation of Islamic faith. Shaykh Ismail is a successful leader in the spread over of Tharekat Naqsyabandiyah in Surau Gading‟s Village Rambah Samo District Rokan Hulu.
