Rubber seed shells contain high cellulose, lignin and pentosan compounds so that they can be used as adsorbents for post-coagulation-adsorption peat water purification. In this study, rubber seed shells were carbonized at a temperature of 500oC for 15 minutes and activated with various concentrations of KOH (0; 5; 10; 15%). The rubber seed shell charcoal produced was characterized by water content, ash content and iodine adsorption capacity, so that the best concentration of activated charcoal with activated rubber seed shell activated KOH 10% was obtained. Rubber seed shell activated charcoal was applied to peat water after coagulation-adsorption in various doses (1; 1.5; 2) g with a contact time of 15 minutes. The best condition of activated charcoal was in sample A1 with a percentage of color removal of 95,96%. The purification of peat water using activated charcoal as an adsorbent of rubber seed shells has been able to improve the quality of peat water with color parameters in accordance with the PERMENKES RI No. 32 of 2017 concerning Environmental Health Quality Standards and Water Health Requirements for Sanitary Hygiene Needs.enactivated charcoaladsorptionpeat waterKINERJA ADSORBEN ARANG CANGKANG BIJI KARET TERAKTIVASI KOH TERHADAP PENYINGKIRAN WARNA AIR GAMBUT PASCA KOAGULASIArticle
