Unoptimal controlling of DM may causes metabolic disorders and cronic vascular disorders. The aim of this study was to know the Level Controlling of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Base on HbA1c in Department of Metabolic Endocrinology Arifin Achmad General Hospital Pekanbaru. The type of research was cross sectional descriptive. The samples are patients with type 2 DM according to inclusion criteria as 38 respondents. In this study, Respondents took HbA1c examination with HPLC method to evaluate the level of controlling DM. In this study it was found that the level controlling of DM type 2 of 36 respondents were in poor and moderate control criteria with the percentage of poor control was 63% and percentage of moderate control was 32%. Respondents who the level controlling of DM type 2 in good control criteria only 2 patients with percentage as 5%.
