The quantitative research method with a correlational technique was employed. The data were gathered using a set of questionnaire. The targetted research population was the civil servants of Education Department in Proliferated district, Riau Province. The sample was taken by using simple random sampling technique through randomly selecting two districts and a city, consisting of 250 civil servants. Some 130 civil servants from each district and a city were treated as the respondents using the Slovin formula. The research result showed that there was a positive correlation between motivation at work and discipline of the civil servants.
