On the other hand, biomass waste is carbon sources which could potentially be converted into charcoal. In this research, the waste of shell fruit of ketapang was carbonized at 500 oC for 15 minutes to produce ketapang shell charcoal (ACK). The adsorption ability of ACK has been studied using cation of Fe(III) with various of contact times (15, 30, 45 and 60 minutes), adsorbent dosages (0.5; 1; 2 and 3 g), and adsorbate concentrations (10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 ppm). The amount of Fe(III) adsorbed by the adsorbent was measured by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) and determined appropriate equilibrium model.
