Abstract

Pollution found in the Siak River Basin was obtained from plantations with a percentage of 48.84% and by industrial waste 17.01%, the identification of several industrial companies in the Siak Regency. identification of several industrial companies that pollute rivers in Siak Regency. The limitation of field officers in carrying out pollution control activities and the occurrence of cases of violations of waste disposal that exceed the quality standard is a phenomenon found. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Office of the Environment on controlling pollution in the Siak watershed, especially the downstream. The control activities that have been carried out consist of outreach, supervision and control activities. This type of research is qualitative in which the researcher describes the phenomenon and makes an assessment of the problem by collecting primary and secondary data through interviews, observation and documentation. The performance of the Office of the Environment in river basin (DAS) pollution control activities is seen from indicators of productivity, service quality orientation, responsiveness, responsibility, and accountability. Based on the research indicators, it can be concluded that the performance of the department in controlling the pollution of the Siak watershed is still not optimal.
